Township Park UPDATE
Many years ago, there was an active Marilla Township Park on Marilla Road, south of the Beers Rd corner. Many who have grown up here may remember playing there. Over time, the park fell in disrepair and per our insurance providers safety inspection, the township board voted to have the structures there removed a year ago.
Now we as a township board are looking toward the future of Marilla Township and its recreational opportunities. Selling the park property and purchase of land adjacent to the current township hall has been discussed. The board will be moving forward with a appraisal of the park property and will be pursuing surveying approximately 2.5 acres behind the museum buildings.
If you have an interest in park planning or in grant research, please contact the Clerk/Township Manager to arrange a meeting.
Have you heard of Code Red?
No, not the soda. It is an emergency call/text service that you can now sign up for. Many residents expressed concern last year when the fires were all around us. This service is available to help spread the word when significant events happen. Being rural, this is a relief to have for all ages.

SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS TO THE CLERK
Do you ever wonder about the inner workings of the township government? Have suggestions of how the township could improve communication, services or support? Our hope for this website is that we can reach out into the community on a new level. We hope this will grow to open communication and transparency between the residents and the township board. There was a time when the community reached out and helped one another, took time to meet their neighbors. It is why many of the founding families settled and stayed in Marilla. As we grow and modernize let’s not lose that big family small community feeling.
How can we build each other up and support our friends and neighbors?
Email the township clerk, Misty Cudney at mcudney@marillatownshipmi.gov with questions or suggestions. The website can then be updated with relevant information that can help everyone.
