Marilla Township

Marilla Township Cemetery

Located 11001-11999 Erwin Rd., the Marilla Township Cemetery is a peaceful place of rest for many founding families of our Township.

URGENT:

The township is seeking family members and friends of those who have passed and are now resting at the Marilla Township Cemetery. We have many stones that need repair and maintenance, and we would like to discuss with the families the options moving forward to improve the beauty and safety of our cemetery. Personal information will be kept private and handled by the clerk only.

HELP WANTED
Are you interested in history, stone or masonry work, grounds keeping or gardening? Join us as part of the Cemetery Committee! Help us beautify the peaceful setting that is our cemetery. It is a great way to be involved with nature and fellow community members.
We are looking for help with surveying, photographing, digitizing records; as well as stone clean up and repair, gardening and tree stump removal, etc.

CEMETERY UPDATE

The township is looking for updated contact information for the plots, graves and burials in the Marilla Township Cemetery. Any information and history, no matter the age, is helpful. Forms can be found online and can be sent to the township hall at 9991 Marilla Rd. Copemish MI 49625 or emailed to mcudney@marillatownshipmi.gov

Many of our memorials are in need of repairs and maintenance. While the township provides the right of burial for a fee, the monuments and memorials belong to the families and are the responsibility of such. We are aware that in this current day and age, many of the families have moved away or otherwise departed. In these situations, the township will need to make arrangements to maintain them for the safety and aesthetic of the cemetery.
