**UPDATE 10/23/2023: At this time the Planning Commission has approved the request, and it has moved to the township board for review. The Township Board will discuss the request at the November Board Meeting. Once discussed it can either be approved (changing the parcel zoning), rejected (keeping the zoning as is), or tabled (sent back to the Planning Commission to gather more information). The community is encouraged to participate through the public comment period that is offered at each public meeting. Manistee County has 30 days to review the request and give its feedback if desired as well.

This notice is to inform you that on September 13, 2023 at 6:30 pm the township planning commission will hold a public hearing at their regularly scheduled meeting held at 9991 Marilla Rd. Copemish MI 49625 regarding this request.
This is a request to rezone a 254.19 acre parcel from Resource Preservation-RP1 requiring 40 acres minimum for a residence to Rural Residential-RR1 requiring 10 acres minimum for a residence. This property is bordered by two paved county-maintained roads, Yates Rd. and 13 Mile Rd.
